2011 HURRICANE IRENE AVERTED
The vision of the AWAKEN prayer and fasting movement began back in July 2011 when Apostle Michelle Morrison would hold outdoor meetings in Foley Square lower Manhattan near the financial district and challenge NYC to return to God through prayer and fasting. As a result we saw the hand of God as He averted Hurricane Irene which was scheduled to reap so much destruction in NYC. In anticipation of expected disaster, for the first time the then mayor closed down lower Manhattan. However, as we fasted and prayed that storm was averted and people in the financial district remember our call to prayer and fasting and God's mighty deliverance.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the AWAKEN prayer and fasting movement is to call for corporate fasting and prayer as seen in Joel 2 so that God can draw the US and the world back to Himself in spiritual awakening.. The Lord will bring awakening and change and, if we come back to Him, protect us during this time of local and national crisis.
JOEL'S PRAYER ARMY - Those who participate in AWAKEN Prayer and Fasting Movement are a part of Joel’s Army –this is a spiritual prayer army—we are warring for our families, country and nations through prayer.

In the book of Joel, we see that the model for prayer and fasting to bring change. (Joel 2:14). Joel 2 contains a prophecy about future darkness or famine or recession. This book speaks of a fiery army that the Lord is raising up to "prepare the way of the Lord" or "sound an alarm." The Lord has called Dr. Morrison as a forerunner and catalyst for this end-time army.
To date, we has 15 countries, 45 nations and 10 US states praying with us for God to bring awakening and revival in the land. We fasted and prayed one day each week in 2011 over the Wall Street area of NYC and from 2015-present the movement expanded. From 2011 through to present, we started our corporate prayer and fasting movement and, beginning is 2015, partnered with local and international pastors and leaders in prayer and fasting,
2015-PRESENT
In 2015 God brought supernatural increase. We had favor to partner with apostles, bishops and pastors in 45 nations and 10 states to pray for awakening and revival. Over 1100 ministries are now submitted to this church – ONLY GOD could have done this! He has enlarged our territory! In 2015 Apostle Michelle actually conducted training of over 55 leaders nationwide! Overseas we now have 45 leaders, including 33 Sr. pastors, 3 apostles, 5 bishops, and 1 arch-bishop under us, with over 1088 branches UNDER the bishops and pastors. This covers around 15 countries and 45 nations. So just in 2015 alone the Lord supernaturally ENLARGED our territory – Praise Jesus. Hallelujah. Locally we have leaders in 10 US states partnering and praying with us.
